CHILD LABOUR

What is child labour ?

The term “Child labour” is often defined as work  that deprives children of their childhood ,their potential and their dignity and that is harmful to their physical and mental development

FROM UNICEF and ILO they acknowledge that 👇

AN ESTIMATED OF 168 MILLION CHILDREN AGED 5-17 WORLWIDE WERE INVOLVED IN CHILD LABOUR

2) Causes of child labour -Lack of meaningful alternatives ,such as affordable schools and the quality of education is the most major factor driving children to these harmful labour ,Many communities ,particular rural areas where between 60-70% of child labour is prevalent ,donot posses adequate school facilities

1)Cultural -In many cultures the education of girls is less valued or girls are simply not expected to the need of formal schooling which happen most in our country to India and these girls are pushed into child labour such as providing domestic services

2)Macroeconomics-It causes encouraged widespread child labour across  the world ,over most of human history ,They suggest that causes for child labour include both the demand and supply side

CHILD LABOUR IN CONTRIES

Africa,India,Brazil ,Australia, Cambodia etc

👆The above all countries have highest rate in child labour

🗯CHILD LABOUR LAWS AND INITIATIVES

-Almost every country in the world have laws relating to aimed at preventing child labour

The international labour organization has set the law

💥💥💥💥💥MINIMUM AGE CONVENTION (C-138) of 1973 it defines that the work done by the age of (12-14) is Non light

And the work done by the age (15-17 ) age is hazardous

This convention has been rectified by 171 countries including ●INDIA

CONCLUSION

DESPITE THE SEVERE LIMITATIONS OF THE SURVIVING EVIDENCE OF CHILD LABOUR THERE ARE GENERAL CONCLUSIONS CAN BE DRWAN
