A Prayer to Future

A Prayer to Future

I make this prayer, everyday.

When it swirls up till my throat

but only to lump back,

dragging me down along with it.

There’s no play of tears.

They fail me like everything else did.

I lie still, counting my fortunes.

Isn’t that what we’re supposed to do?

Be grateful for what we’ve.

I am. Yet I’d give all this,

In return of,

 a shoulder to lean onto,

arms to hold me tight,

and a soul to say; it’s alright

you can cry now

So I make this prayer:

This be today,

let it not pass onto tomorrow

for I live in the hope,

of what awaits.

Spread the love
